Strengthen Day 3 - Tuesday - March 1, 2022

Mar 1, 2022

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33

In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:6

Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore! Psalm 105:4

Then Samson called to the LORD, saying, “O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God, that I may with one blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes!” Judges 16:28

Most of us have read the scripture, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and these things shall be added to you.” But how can we apply this to our life? What does it mean to seek Him daily? I think He answers this for us with the verse we find in Proverbs 3:6, “In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will direct your paths.” In “all” your ways acknowledge Him? Sometimes that feels like too big of a task, doesn’t it?

Seeking God daily to me means having a daily awareness to include God in every area of my life. Yes, I would love for Him to come first but due to the pure fact that I am human, that is sometimes a struggle! Seeking God in the day to day means bringing all my worries and fears to Him in prayer, listening to scripture on the Bible app, sermons on podcasts, and let’s not forget worship music. Acknowledging Him in everything means that I look to Him for safety when I get in my car every morning. Seeking Him continually means that I ask him to guard my children as they go to school in the morning, for their big test that week, to be a light to their peers. Seeking the Lord for strength means that I surrender my control and believe just as Samson prayed for the Lord to strengthen him, I can believe that He will also give me strength!

Seeking God in the day-to-day is when we constantly acknowledge that He is a part of our day by giving Him glory for the small victories and even the setbacks; because let’s face it, sometimes those seem to happen more often than the victories. Knowing that God is still in control no matter what the day looks like can give us strength to continually seek Him. Remember, the word says, “in all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” When you learn to acknowledge Him in everything, then you’ll be better prepared for life and more equipped to fight the battle against the enemy!

Reflection: What is happening in my life that I can acknowledge as God’s hand? How can I release control so that God can strengthen me and increase my faith?
