Exodus 14:14 (NLT)
“The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”

One of the most action-packed stories in the Bible is found in Exodus. God’s children are escaping from bondage in Egypt. However, in their journey out, the Egyptian army is summoned to pursue and recapture. God’s people grew nervous. They walked a little faster. Wondered what their outcome would be. As they were running, hoping to get away to worship the one true God, they were met with an obstacle...a sea blockade. The Hebrews ran right into the Red Sea while the Egyptian army was hot in pursuit.

Have you ever been in the middle of an uncomfortable situation? That’s where the Hebrews found themselves. This moment is the proverbial rock and a hard place. Instead, it’s the world’s most powerful army and a huge body of water. Yet, God told them to continue to move forward. Moses raises his staff and a wind blows making the water separate into two walls and preparing a way on dry ground. As the last Hebrew stepped across on the other side of the sea on dry ground, while the Egyptian army was right in the middle of crossing, God caused the water to swallow up the army and save His people. God’s response to a difficult situation is: “Stay Calm I will fight this battle for you.”

Again, have you found yourself in an uncomfortable situation. Where you need God to move on your behalf? Guess what? As people of the promise, we have a promise that God is fighting for you. Rest in that promise.

Today’s Promise: God is fighting your battles.
