John 8:36
“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”

Day 21! You made it. I am so proud of you. I pray this fast has not been easy, but has been fulfilling as you have sought God and held on to His promises. Remember there are over 7,000 promises from God to you in scripture. We have only covered 21 of them throughout our fast. I want to leave you with one more promise for today’s devotional, maybe one of the most important.

Strongholds are areas in our life that the enemy gains ground. A stronghold starts with a thought we have not captured. This thought plays in our mind over and over again until it becomes our reality. Fears, insecurities, addictions, past experiences can all lead to strongholds the enemy uses to stunt our growth. In fact, as you are reading this, maybe a couple strongholds you struggle with have come to mind.

You can have freedom from strongholds. You cannot find this freedom in self-help books. Nothing from yourself can help you get freedom at all. The reality is your self-help created the stronghold. You can have freedom today from a stronghold that has held you back from personal or spiritual growth. This freedom is a promise from God. If you try to break a habit or stronghold in your own strength you might get freedom for a while. When we allow Jesus to bring us into freedom- or make us free- we are free indeed. Not just for a moment but for a lifetime.

Go for it! Invite Jesus to bring you into His freedom. Walk away from the stronghold and experience His promise of being free indeed.
